Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday met tech giants including Cisco's John Chambers, Microsoft's Satya Nadella and Google's Sundar Pichai.

After a brief interaction, PM Modi proceeded to what has been dubbed the "Digital India Dinner" with 350 business leaders. Here's is the key quotes of top tech bosses at Digital India event:

John Chambers, Cisco chief:

"We believe you will change the world and change India.

"PM Modi has global vision, he understands global trends."

You(PM Modi) are an amazing ambassador of your country.

Sundar Pichai, Google CEO

I was in India last year, I could feel the change. I met hungry entrepreneurs, similar to the ones I meet in Silicon Valley.

He (PM Modi) has accelerated India's efforts in becoming the hotbed of innovation.

India's the fastest growing start-up nation in the world.

Paul E Jacobs, Qualcomm, executive chairman

India under the leadership of PM Modi is moving in the right direction.

We are keen and focused on setting up a number of design houses to design products in India.

India already has more internet traffic on mobile devices than any other country.

We are extremely excited and motivated with PM Modi's digital India vision.

Satya Nadella, Microsoft CEO

PM Narendra Modi in his address at the Digital India event spoke

PM Narendra Modi in his address at the Digital India event spoke at length on technological advancements and its impact on people and nation as a whole. Here's is the key highlight of PM's speech at Digital India event:

1) Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, they are the new neighbourhoods of our new world.

2) The most fundamental debate for our youth is the choice between Android, iOS or Windows.

3) By using internet we have been able to identify applications that would make governance faster and better.

4) Pace at which people are taking to digital technology defies our stereotypes of age, education, language and income.

5) Since my government came to office we attacked poverty by using power of networks & mobile phones to launch a new era of empowerment.

6) In this digital age, we have an opportunity to transform lives of people in ways that was hard to imagine just a couple of decades ago.

7) I see technology as a means to empower and as a tool that bridges the distance between hope and opportunity.

8) Social media is reducing social barriers. It connects people on the strength of human values, not identities.

9) Digital India is an enterprise for India's transformation on a scale that is, perhaps, unmatched in human history.

PM Modi continues US tour

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not only speak to Silicon Valley's biggest executives during his two-day visit to the US tech hub but will also take questions from some of Facebook Inc's 1.5 billion users at a townhall on Sunday.

Modi, 65, is the first Indian leader to visit the US West Coast in more than 30 years. His trip follows a similar visit by China's president, Xi Jinping, who met several tech leaders in Seattle last week.

The Prime Minister continues his Silicon Valley tour on Sunday with visits to Facebook and Google Inc headquarters before an event at the San Jose Convention Center that 18,000 people are expected to attend.

Facebook chief executive Mark Zuckerberg announced Modi's visit on his Facebook page earlier this month and invited users to post questions.

More than 37,000 comments were made in reply, with questions ranging from those about internet expansion in India, unemployment rates and calls for Modi to address his human rights record.

Zuckerberg looks forward to interact with Modi on connectivity
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has said that he is looking forward to having a conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi about what connectivity means for India's future at a townhall session.

"I'll host Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a Townhall Q&A at Facebook HQ, where I'm looking forward to having a conversation about what connectivity means for India's future," Zuckerberg wrote in a post on Facebook.

Rock-star tour

PM Modi remains wildly popular and is expected to receive a rock-star welcome through most of his US visit.

Modi boasts an 87 per cent approval rating in India and is the second-most popular world leader on social media after US President Barack Obama. He has 15 million Twitter followers and more than 30 million "likes" on Facebook.

Modi is eager to bring bigger technology investments and jobs back to India to help its growing startup scene. He has also sought to encourage some Indians who have thrived around Silicon Valley to bring their knowledge back home.

Much of his visit, which began on Saturday, has also focused on connecting with the Indian diaspora community in Silicon Valley.

On Saturday, he attended a dinner with 350 business leaders where Indian-born CEOs Satya Nadella of Microsoft Corp, Google Inc's Sundar Pichai and Shantanu Narayen of Adobe Systems Inc moderated a panel.

Modi visited Tesla Motors headquarters on Saturday and met chief executive Elon Musk, where the two discussed battery technology, energy storage and renewable energy. He also met Apple Inc chief executive Tim Cook.

Narendra Modi won over the Silicon Valley

Prime Minister Narendra Modi won over the Silicon Valley with his quotable one-liners on the digital revolution - originating from this part of the world - that is changing everyone's life-style globally.

Sharing examples from his own personal life-style and those from people across India, including rural women, Modi punched his maiden address to the Silicon Valley with one liners that drew thunderous applause from the several hundred audiences that comprised of who's who of the corporate sector.

"I have met many of you in Delhi and New York, and on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram," Modi said.

These are the new neighborhoods of our new world, he said amidst applause from the audience. And then he went on to describe the iconic Silicon Valley companies in his own words.

"If Facebook were a country, it would be the third most populous one and the most connected," he said.

Google today has made teachers less awe-inspiring and grandparents more idle.

Twitter has turned everyone into a reporter.

The traffic lights that need to work the best are on CISCO routers, Modi said amidst applause from the audience.

"The status that now matters is not whether you are awake or asleep, but whether you are online or offline. The most fundamental debate for our youth is the choice between Android, iOS or Windows," he said.

From computing to communication, entertainment to education, from printing documents to printing products, and, now to internet of things, it's been a long journey in a short time, the Prime Minister said.

From cleaner energy to better healthcare and safer transport, everything is converging around the work you do. In Africa, it's helping people transfer money on phone. It has made reaching small island states no longer a journey of adventure, but a convenient click of a mouse, he noted.
